It seems like selfies are taking over the world! Everywhere you go, it’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ll come across someone taking a selfie and it always makes me giggle watching people trying to get the perfect shot – making sure they look good; snapping a famous attraction in the background; trying to squeeze everyone into the picture; or avoiding someone jumping in to photobomb.

Choosing where to go from the fabulous destinations Cosmos has on offer is the hard bit. If I won I think I’d have to pick Mauritius, somewhere I’ve wanted to visit for years but just haven’t had the chance to yet. It was where I always dreamed of going for my honeymoon but instead we got married abroad, visited Cornwall shortly after the wedding and then went on a 5 month round the world trip. Okay, so I’m not complaining, but I can always have a second honeymoon right?!
In Mauritius I would soak up the culture and get to know the locals; shop in the colourful markets and try the delicious street food; marvel at the multi-coloured earth of Chamarel; explore the mountains, forests and national parks; visit the lions at the big cat sanctuary; and, most importantly, relax on the white sandy beaches and snorkel in the sparkling blue sea.
Sound much like Paradise? Completely!
My #SelfieStories
This selfie is one of my favourites and never fails to make me laugh. It was taken in Malawi during an overland tour of Africa when the back of an old truck was our taxi for the day (as it so often was in Africa). We climbed up and held on for dear life as the driver bumped and hurtled us over the dusty roads. Mr Ayla just about managed to take this photo without falling off the back of the truck!
