To me, the window seat of a plane is like candy to a baby. I love flying and I always try to grab a window seat so I can watch the world go by and ooh and ahh as we get a glimpse of our next destination as we come in to land. Sitting slightly behind the wing of the plane is my favourite spot where I can get some great shots of the sky or the landscape below us with the tip of the wing lined up perfectly. It helps that Mr Ayla doesn’t like flying in the slightest so he’s always perfectly happy to let his eager wife take the best seat 🙂
Flying into the town of Puerto Maldonado, in Peru’s Amazon Rainforest, has got to be one of the most fantastic views we’ve been treated to from a plane. The lush green rainforest spread out for miles below us and the zigzag of the Amazon River flowed into the horizon. Knowing that we would soon be on the ground, sailing down that river, walking through those trees and spotting untold wildlife, made us even more excited for the time we were about to spend in the Amazon.
But, right at that moment, I was enjoying the view I had from up here, where everything looks like it’s in a whole other world.
Awesome photo! It’s always so cool, looking out of planes and seeing the different landscapes down below 🙂
Seeing the Amazon from above is just one of those incredible views you see on documentaries everywhere so I was so happy to actually see it for myself 🙂
Agreed, it was 5 years ago I took this flight and it is still the best aerial view I have ever seen. Ever cooler than the aerials over the blue Caribbean.
Yep, such a fantastic view. It’s just like the amazing views you see in TV documentaries and we got to witness it ourselves! 🙂
