One of my favourite places in the world is Gibraltar and one of the main attractions is of course the Rock. From on top of the Rock you can look out over the whole of Gibraltar where you see Spain on one side and Morocco on the other on a cloud free day.
The cable car takes you up to the top in a few minutes or, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can walk up to the top passing caves, tunnels and other interesting stop off points on your way.
If you’re lucky you may even spot an aeroplane landing on one of the shortest runways I’ve ever landed on. Part of the landing strip is a main road and pedestrian crossing which is closed off every time a plane lands, and the end of the runway just falls off into the sea.
Make sure your food and drink is hidden away otherwise you might just find yourself being mugged by one of the cheeky monkeys that roam freely all over the top of the Rock!
I’m going to Gibraltar next week and looking forward to it! The monkeys worry me though haha! Beautiful photos 🙂
Ahh so jealous! I haven’t been back for a while and am desperate to go! Have you been before? Just don’t take food up or carry any plastic bags – nothing that they’ll think has food in – and you’ll be fine. They started to get used to people feeding them so got more confident but they shouldn’t hurt you! The last time I went you were able to stroke them and they were harmless. Have a fab time!
