Summer in Greenwich Park London

Weekly Photo Challenge: Gone But Not Forgotten

It may not be snowing quite yet* but winter has taken over London with full force.  I don’t leave the house without making sure I’m all wrapped up in a big coat, woolly scarf and gloves, but after being outside for just a few minutes, my cheeks are rosy red, my nose is running and I feel like I’ve been slapped in the face with the full force of the bitter wind.

As soon as I get back home again, after the dreadful moment of stepping out of the boiling shower into the rest of the ice cold house, it’s straight into my cosy pjs and snuggling on the sofa under the duvet with a steaming cup of hot chocolate.

The summer and its glorious warm sunshine might be long gone but it is certainly not forgotten.  Right now it’s pretty hard to imagine getting my pale legs out to put on a summer dress, going for a picnic in the park, or a day trip to one of England’s pebbly seasides.  I long to put on a pair of flip flops and gobble a cold creamy ice cream to cool me down.

Which is why I absolutely, unquestionably, completely, totally CANNOT wait for our escape from cold England to sunny Cuba in February!!!  Can you tell how excited I am? 😀

After incredible but exhausting trips to India and South America this year, a blogging-free and internet-free relaxing holiday is much needed and we plan on soaking up as much of the missing sunshine as possible.

Don’t worry, I’ll still be sharing our Cuban adventures with you when we’re back!
